Silent torment

~Shock took over her. ,he can't be.. it just can't be,she thought to herself. She had seen it though and the image was so vivid it couldn't be anything but real.
She reached over to touch the sword he had given her. She touched the ruby and remember his promise to never leave her. tears burned in her eyes. She choked on them, found herself shaking with bitter sadness. Gently as if holding a child she picked up the blade and threw the sheath onto the ground. Holding the blade to her throat she sliced it cleanly through soft skin, her blood ran like a stream down her neck. She cut her arm next, then her hand. She rested it along her vain.... rested it and waited. When she heard footsteps she pulled and when she did her blood, like a fountain, sprayed out of her body.
Lifeless and useless it fell into a puddle of blood. eyes already lifeless, stared past the blade into the room where her beloved had been murdered.
